New lead pastor matt

Matt has been Pastor and leader for 20 years. What began as an acute and clear call from the Lord, has flourished into a passion for proclaiming the truth of God’s Word, inviting those with listening ears to live out the calling of compassionate outreach, and eagerly serving the weary and wondering. Matt, his wife and family of six, have modeled this through foster care and adoption, time embedded in the community, and hosting the hurting and unfamiliar in our home. 


Matt enjoys reading and reflecting by a fire, writing, listening to people’s life stories and jumping in to serve and support.

Pastor Matt will be joining us in June!

Lead pastor (INTERIM)

PAUL HEPPNER

Paul has been a pastor for over 25 years.  Paul has been married to Peggy for 37 years and they have three grown children.  Paul has been a youth pastor, associate pastor, started two churches and now specializes in helping churches optimize their ministries while they look for their next lead pastor.  He loves camping, fishing, hiking and working on projects in his shop.


In his role for the Village Church, Paul is filling the lead pastor position while the Village searches for its next lead pastor.

Church Administrator

Alyssa H.

Alyssa joined the church in 2023 as the Church Administrator.  She is married to Dylan, and they have a daughter, Lucy.  They live locally in Baldwin.  She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.  She and Lucy enjoy gardening and love doing activities together.

 

In her role for the Village Church, Alyssa coordinates and supports ministry volunteer teams, provides marketing support, manages daily operations and maintaining office records. Handles church communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins and newsletters. Building and maintaining relationships with the congregation and community, as well as provide and organize computer information for the church.

WORSHIP COACH AND SPIRITUAL CARE MENTOR

JAyne bradford

Jayne has been involved in music for as long as she can remember.  She is married to Bob Bradford and has two grown children. In addition to working for the Village Church she teaches piano and voice lessons as well as traditional and therapeutic horseback riding lessons. In Jayne’s "spare" time she loves to ride and show her Morgan horses.

 
In her role for the Village Church, Jayne organizes and leads our Sunday worship team to lead the whole church to celebrate all that God has done.  Jayne also meets with people to encourage and guide people through difficulties or to make life transformations.

Elders in the church

THE ROLE OF THE ELDERS IS TO OVERSEE THE MINISTRIES AND SPIRITUAL HEALTH OF THE CHURCH

The purpose of The Village Church leadership structure is to provide a stable and effective organizational framework to aid this Church in accomplishing its mission. The roles of Lead Pastor, Elders, Staff, and Congregation are distinct and effective for church health, church growth, and church multiplication.

  • Ken davenport

    Ken has been an elder since October of 2020 and was the interim pastor for the Village Church from October 2020-June 2022. Ken currently serves the village children's program, discovery village, as well as supporting the outreach and creative teams. Ken occasionally provides Sunday morning reaching and also facilitates the pastor search committee. 


    In his day job he leads a global product engineering for 3M separation and purification sciences division. Ken has a B.A. in chemistry and biology, a PH.D in biochemistry with a focus on molecular genetics, and a masters degree in business administration. 


    Ken and his wife of 30+ years, Theresa are proud parents of three grown children Zac, Michael and Emily.

  • Jim Thorson

    Jim has attended the Village Church since day one. He is currently on the prayer team, management team and is an Elder. He has been married to Natalie for 37 years. They have one son and 3 grandchildren. Jim loves being with his family, the outdoors, working in his yard, and golfing.

  • Brian bedford

    Brian became and Elder in 2023. Brian, his wife, and three children have been part of the Village Church for two years. Brian has worked as a financial advisor in Baldwin for 18 years. He loves traveling, camping, cycling and golf for recreation.
