Pastor Ken Davenport didn't start out as a pastor. Getting a bachelor's degree with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology followed by a Ph.D. at Rice University in the department of Biochemistry, Ken started off as a scientist and developed into a food safety expert and businessman, earning an MBA at the University of Minnesota. Throughout his scientific and business career, Ken was active in the churches he attended leading drama ministry, participating in the worship team, and involved in youth ministries.
Over the last ten years at The Village Church, Ken (alongside several lay-teachers at the Village) was given the opportunity to teach on Sunday mornings. When Pastor Stu, founding pastor of the Village Church, announced his retirement in 2020, Ken felt the call to ministry and was approved by the elders and the congregation as the part time, interim pastor of the Village Church..
Ken has attended the Village Church since its founding along with his wife Theresa.
Spiritual Care Ministry
Kathy facilitates and leads many areas of spiritual care for The Village Church family as well as the community around us. Counseling, prayer ministry, grief support, building a discipling culture, and many other areas of service flow out of her heart for people and passion to serve the Father faithfully, to proclaim Jesus boldly, and to overflow with the Holy Spirit's presence always.
God has used Kathy's background, training, and history to prepare her for this area of ministry. She holds a BS in Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy, and an MA in Family Life Education with an emphasis on Bereavement and Spiritual Care. She is trained in the 3DM model of building a discipling culture and GiANT leadership development model.
Kathy and her husband, Brian, showed up for The Village Church of Baldwin's first Sunday worship gathering and have loved being a part of the Village Church family since that day.
In her role for the Village Church, Rosemary works behind the scenes and coordinates and supports ministry volunteer teams, provides marketing support, works with volunteers to organize church outreach events, and kind of just does what needs to be done.
Rosemary was on the Church launch team and joined the church in her present role just a year after the church was launched. Rosemary and her husband Michael live in an old log house surrounded by nature and love spending time with their two rescued Standard Poodles.
If you need information about the church or have questions about volunteering please email Rosemary:
Jayne was born and raised in Racine, WI. She is married to Bob Bradford and has two grown children. She went on to get a B.A. in Ministries/Music from the University of Northwestern St. Paul. In addition to working for the Village Church she teaches piano and voice lessons as well as traditional and therapeutic horseback riding lessons. In Jayne’s "spare" time she loves to ride and show her Morgan horses.
Jayne grew up in a musical family - Jayne’s parents made sure they all had piano lessons and were always involved with the music at church. Jayne has been involved in music for as long as she can remember - singing in the church kid's choir, ensembles and playing the in the handbell choir. School band and choir and all the way through college, traveling with a college ensemble, singing with a large church choir, directing a children's choir, directing school musicals, teaching classroom general music, singing and playing with worship teams in a number of different churches.
Psalm 22:3 in the Passion translation says " You are God-Enthroned, surrounded with songs, living among the shouts of praise of your princely people." I passionately believe that worship is crucial to the spiritual well-being of Christians. I seek to encourage all believers to deepen their relationship with God and to live Christ-honoring, Spirit empowered lives by actively engaging in heart-felt worship.
